  1. I have really enjoyed your book, “Faith Deployed’. As a veteran Coast Guard “underway” wife I have found it encouraging and refreshing. Thank you!

  2. “Faith Deployed” is excellent! My wife Jamie and I have read it, I have mine noted, high-lighted, and noted some more. I want you to know also we use “Faith Deployed” as one of our standard, “go to” texts in our ministry, Cedar Valley Point Man and Home Front Ministry as we work with both veterans and their families. Thank God someone, specifically a wife with writing abilities, was sensitive to the Holy Spirit, to follow His leading and respond and obey.

  3. Fortunately my deployments in the USAR and National Guard were during a great period of growth and noncombat war in the United States. I found your site from Twitter and was quickly reminded how many men and women have loved ones state side who need encouragement and support. God Bless everyone who reads this and if anyone ever needs a friend who has been there, please find me on twitter. God is with you all.

  8. Wow! I was given a copy of your book this summer the the day my family was throwing a “deployment party” for my hubby. His orders which were “on hold” had been changed 5 times to 4 different countries (twice to one country:) but we figured what the heck he’s gotta be going somewhere. We had been married a little over a year and I was in tears, at the party I used my brave smile, & for weeks after.
I would like to thank the you and the awesome women who contributed to this book. It taught me that it is not my husbands confusing communication skills, but that military life is….. changeable. The best part is I now feel hope. Hope because if other people can do this than so can I.
    Peace, holly

  9. I am pretty new to all the military stuff. My husband joined several years ago at the age of 36. That is pretty old for joining the Army Reserve, however, he believes that that is his calling at this moment in time. I am a firm believer that you need to continue with where God leads you. This has not been an easy career change on me. He has been called to active duty with a transporation company. He has been gone on some training or anther since June and the kids and I have seen very little of him. Last week, we were able to spend his last 4 day leave, until he return for his 2 week R&R in the midst of his year long deployment. It is encouraging to have found a this site, where devotion, strength and encouragement is given on a daily basis. I never imagined it would be so difficult to let my husband go to a dangerous place to do a dangerous job. I am blessed to have a work enviorment that supports my faith and my husband’s mission fully. I have not read any of your books, but will be seeing which ones would be best to start with. I do know that my husband will be leaving within the next 3-4 days and then the uncertainty comes. I am a little scared of this part, when will we talk to him again, will we know when he is out doing a dangerous mission, and all the other unknowns. I will continue to seek peach through God, as he is the only one who can give that to me.
I just want to thank you again, for setting up this site for people like me to come to for encouragement and strength.

God bless you and all the soldiers and families. Thank you for all you do!!

    Sincerely,
    Arline

    • Hi-new marriage is hard hun! Not sure how things went but I do know that you two need to stick by each other. HE needs to put you first and stand by you even if it means his parents dont agree or support everything because you are married now. Its hard because you need to respect him so you got to kinda put things to him nicely and sweetly but stand firm that you need your space from his parents :-) Let me know how your doing?

  17. Aloha,

My husband and I are newlyweds. We just got married a few weeks ago, May. 06, 2010. My husband is in the Navy and he just left for his 6 months deployment yesterday. I have been in tears since he left. This is my first deployment with him and I am finding it really hard to deal with. I miss my husband very much but while browsing on the net to look for a devotion or some sort of comfort, I saw a link that shared about your book. I went on Amazon and ordered it. I am hoping it’ll be here in 4 days because I need some sort of comfort. I am praying for all the men who are serving our country who are out there. May God also bless all the spouses who are awaiting their coming home. I look forward to reading your book. God bless and aloha from Hawaii.

  18. I just got my two copies in the mail. Thank you for the note inside! One copy is for a friend. I look forward to reading it!

  19. I love this book! My husband is currently serving in Afghanistan. Sometimes when I come home from work to a very quiet home and find myself getting sad, I’ll start a bath and read your book. It gives me SUCH peace to know how many other women have been in my shoes before me and with God’s strength, pulled through. Thank you for this!

    • Kristen, I’m so glad to hear that the book is a source of encouragement to you! You are right, many other women have felt (and are feeling!) exactly what you feel right now. With God, you can get through this.

      Blessings, Jocelyn

  20. I am engaged and getting married to a Navy CB next month. We have been together for 6 years and currently he is in Afghanistan. During our 6 year relationship he has deployed 4 times. I have always handled them fine. However, after getting married this September he is accepting orders overseas in Bahrain. I am overwhelmed with anxiety of leaving what has become home for the past 26 years. Although I see where God has been actively preparing me to leave the Gulf Coast of Mississippi I am still struggling with stepping out in Faith to the unknown. I have not read your book yet but will order today. Can you or anyone share what life will be like in Bahrain? Thank you in advance for any support given…..Trina

    • Hi Trina! Leeana Tankersley is a Navy wife who wrote about her experiences in Bahrain in her book: Found Art: Discovering Beauty in Foreign Places. I highly, highly recommend getting this book- she’s a Christian and went through what you will be facing.

Also, if you’d like to post the question on our Facebook page, you may get more insights. http://Www.facebook.com/faithdeployed.

      Blessings! Jocelyn
